Lisa
Client Services Manager - Drop In
I joined the Shinebright care family in November 2022 in the background learning about the NDIS and the amazing people we support. This sparked my interest in wanting to continue my knowledge and learning about NDIS and working with families and participants to support their independence and smash their goals.  With the amazing support from the Shinebright care family, it prompted me to leave my medical administration background and dive into the Client Manager Role. Working in NSW health over the past four and half years in paediatrics it has exposed me to a lot of children and families managing their disabilities, this is where I found my passion for helping families and I was really looking for a more personal approach. I’m really looking forward to working closely with families so their loved ones are supported and have a positive impact in their lives.  In my spare time I love reading books and spending time with my family.  I am really looking forward to supporting the current participants in the SBC family and welcoming new participants into the family.

Laura
Disability Support Worker
Laura has recently joined ShineBright Care and has very quickly proven that she is an absolute superstar at what she does. Laura is 26 years old; she came to Australia from Germany in 2016. Laura fell in love with Australia and has planted her roots in this beautiful part of the Central Coast. Disability was engrained into her life from a young age with her parents managing a home for people living with disability in her hometown. In year 11, Laura undertook a work placement in aged care for five weeks to give her further practical experience in the care industry on top of her school studies. It was a natural progression and passion for Laura to move into this field after she finished school and continued to further her knowledge of the field at the Rudolf Steiner school in Kiel, Germany. Laura loves being around people, supporting their needs, goals and dreams and aims to have a positive role in their lives, encouraging them with compassion every step of the way. I her time outside of work, Laura loves the outdoors and camping, music, good food and being near the ocean. Friends and family, art, piano exercise, and travel are other passions of this very busy and kind-hearted lady.
About Laura
Tahlia
Disability Support Worker
I'm a young person with disabilities, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and traits of other conditions like OCD and dyslexia. My family is neurodivergent in various ways, both diagnosed and undiagnosed. Growing up with my sister, who has a rare genetic mutation and an intellectual disability, and with a mother working in disability support, I learned the importance of community within the autistic experience. My interests are diverse and change frequently, but I love playing my electric acoustic guitar, especially country music; using makeup for artistic expression; drawing realistic portraits; tending to our family terrarium; caring for plants; and my passion for animals. I also enjoy collecting vinyl records from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, exploring true crime and criminal psychology, baking old-fashioned desserts, and playing Pokémon Go. While I don’t have much time for intense gaming, I follow stories from titles like God of War and Fallout 4, and I currently enjoy lighter indie games on Steam. Having navigated a world that felt alien, I want to help others recognise their own signs and symptoms. My goal is to empower young people with strategies to avoid burnout or breakdown. I believe everyone deserves support and understanding, and I'm committed to making a difference in their lives.

Becky
Disability Support Worker
Hi, I'm Becky, and I'm super passionate about being a support worker. As a mum of two amazing boys, I understand the importance of having someone who cares and understands. My personal experience with close family members who have various disabilities has fuelled my passion for this field. I'm currently studying my Certificate III in Individual Support, which is giving me a deeper understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. I'm dedicated to furthering my knowledge and skills in the field and am always looking for ways to give back to the community.  When I was younger, I volunteered at "sensory movie days". These movie sessions are for families with children who live with disabilities. I made sure the kids were safe, but I also got to hang out with them and make new friends. This experience solidified my desire to become a support worker myself. I now volunteer at Sydney Children's Hospital. It's a rewarding experience to be able to support children and their families during difficult times and put a smile on faces, providing fun for the kids and a helping hand for families. When I'm not busy being a mum, I love exploring the outdoors and spending quality time with my family. I find joy in going to the beach and parks with my loved ones, and I cherish every moment I spend with them.  I have been a committed and reliable member of the Shine Bright Care team since August last year. In this time, I've made countless meaningful memories and connection. I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life, and I'm committed to doing my part to make that a reality for the individuals I support.

Brent
Disability Support Worker
Hi all, I am Brent. While I am new to the disability field, I am bringing many skills from my years of varied experiences to SBC. I’m an energetic young man with a kind heart, and I am softly spoken. I believe one of my best qualities is that I am considerate of others’ feelings and their aspirations. I hold a qualification in Men’s design, and although I am a professional in that field, I found I enjoy working directly with people instead of this field. One of my best skills in the workplace is listening to people and their perspectives and working directly with them. I have been recognised for going above and beyond to brighten someone’s day. I possess excellent technology skills, particularly with computers and TVs. I believe these attributes make me a valuable support worker. Since joining the SBC team, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with individuals with diverse disabilities. Outside of work (which, I must admit, is not as frequent as it should be due to my passion for working!), I enjoy activities such as camping, and watching sports - including the NRL (supporting the Bulldogs), athletics, tennis, and tenpin bowling. I also relish following the Olympics. In my downtime, I like to relax with Netflix, cook, and occasionally enjoy a beer. I look forward to meeting you to see how I can assist you in reaching your individual goals.
